My parents gave me my first violin when I was two years old (so that I would leave my sister's alone), and I began my own lessons at three. Throughout my youth I sang in various choirs and was a jazz and a capella vocalist. As a result, my musical inspirations range from Mozart, Beethoven, and Ysaÿe, to Ella Fitzgerald, Chet Baker, and John Coltrane. My career has been wonderfully eclectic, allowing for exploration in a variety of genres. I collaborate with bands and soloists ranging from Heavy Rock/Metal, to Indie Pop and Bluegrass. Lately I have been experimenting with looping and layering strings to explore different harmonic tonalities, especially when improvising.
When I'm not practicing classical violin or jammin' around with jazz, I'm on a quest to find the World's Hottest Hot Sauce.
